Protecting Your Forest

Directional Felling

Protecting your unharvested trees is a priority for us during a timber harvest. To ensure we can keep standing timber safe, we use a specialized cutting technical called directional felling. This is where a notch is cut in the base of the tree to direct where the tree will fall. Our experienced cutters know how to direct the large trees to clearings and openings in the forest. This keeps smaller timber protected so it can grow for a future timber harvest.
